Ottogerd “Otto Bulletproof” Karasch embodies adventure, mental strength, and a willingness to step outside his comfort zone time and time again. As a former paratrooper, outdoor and survival expert, entrepreneur, and content creator, he has become one of the most recognizable faces in the German-speaking outdoor and adventure scene in recent years.

His experiences extend far beyond traditional outdoor adventures. During his time in the German Armed Forces, Otto served in Afghanistan, among other places. Later, he developed a passion for survival, bushcraft, and extraordinary expeditions, sharing them with a growing YouTube community.

Otto became known to a wide audience in 2022 through the second season of “7 vs. Wild.” On a tropical island in Panama, he faced the challenges of the wilderness alone for seven days—and won the season.
But “7 vs. Wild” was just the beginning for Otto. Numerous other challenges followed with his own adventure and survival series, such as “Ocean Warrior,” “Arctic Warrior,” “Desert Warrior,” and “Survival Squad.” His expeditions took him to some of the harshest and most remote regions of the world.
Another project connects him with extreme athlete Joey Kelly: In “Adventure Buddies,” the two set off together into the wilderness—whether on a kayak trip spanning more than 300 kilometers down the Yukon River or on other adventures far from civilization. Experience, endurance, teamwork, and the ability to handle unforeseen situations are at the heart of it all. Joining them on their adventures are the Katadyn BeFree AC and Optimus equipment.

It’s precisely this mindset that connects Otto and Katadyn. Anyone venturing off the beaten path must be able to rely on their gear. Access to safe drinking water, in particular, can be crucial on expeditions, multi-day trips, and in remote regions. As a Katadyn Mission Partner, Otto takes our products where they’re needed: away from everyday life and into real adventure. Under demanding conditions, reliability, functionality, and independence become not just theoretical product features, but an essential part of every mission.
The partnership with Otto therefore represents more than just traditional brand communication. It combines his experience in survival, expeditions, and outdoor adventures with our commitment to providing people all over the world with reliable access to clean drinking water.
