Perform an Explorer Pro Integrity Test

Perform an Explorer Pro Integrity Test

The Explorer Pro integrity test helps check whether the virus membrane may have been damaged after a drop, freezing or another impact.

When to perform the test

Katadyn recommends an integrity test when the virus membrane has been dropped, frozen or may otherwise be damaged. The purpose is to check whether the membrane can still provide reliable virus protection.

What the test checks

The test uses air bubbles as a visible indication of membrane integrity. Follow the current product instructions for the correct preparation, connections, pressure and interpretation. Do not use a filter for virus protection if the test result is unclear or indicates damage.

After the test

If the result is acceptable, reassemble the system carefully and check all seals and connections. If the result is not acceptable, stop using the virus stage and contact Katadyn or an authorized service partner for the correct replacement or repair procedure.

Why careful handling matters

The Explorer Pro combines a cleanable ceramic filter with a virus membrane and an optional activated carbon stage. Protecting each component during transport, cleaning and storage helps maintain the system's intended performance.
